It can benefit us in many ways e.g. to challenge ourselves to grow, however being overly self-critical can cause thoughts & outcomes which don't serve us. Many of us experience this ,and as with many mental health topics, we may not be aware others are experiencing self-criticism and doubt so it is important we are compassionate to ourselves and others. New Episode Out Now: Link in Bio 💛

This introduction episode touches upon a topic which is close to my own experience and many of a South Asian background in the UK. In the past and still now, it has been hard for us to talk about our mental health, to articulate it, understand its impact, and how experiences have impacted who we are today - combining two cultures and finding what our individual truth is, actually being able to safely talk about mental health, and support ourselves and our parents/elders in their own journey. Being seen as 'weak' has limited being able to openly discuss mental health, however more recently, with the education available, we can begin to explore how we can connect to our mental health and release stigmas in the community, to allow deeper connections to our mind and acknowledging the impact mental health can have on our general being and life.

This topic was at points hard to discuss (touching upon loss also) but I feel so important - the more we talk about it, whether you are South Asian or know/have loved ones who are, our experience is valid and we can connect to it by understanding why we felt certain ways, and how we can allow ourselves to express and release without shame.

New Podcast Episode out now - link in bio 💛 after some time away and getting back into routine with the new year, this topic felt ever more relevant.

At the start of the year we often contemplate New Years resolutions. It is a great time to reflect and consider what is important to us, who we want to be and what we want to be doing, however at the end of January we find ourselves tailing away from those big goals - this is where Self Discipline comes into play as we can understand here what we want to make a habit and work on daily, not just the bigger goals. It is a skill and tool which allows us to connect to why we are implementing changes and how we can commit to them for the bigger picture. In this episode we explore how we can can become more self disciplined and allow ourselves to connect and actually do what is important to us, in the here and now, for the long term.
